cheers. I've been using waypoints for a while but i found bootstraps affix.js the easiest to use. Not sure why they got rid of it in bs4 alpha.

Just tried this https://github.com/leafo/sticky-kit - 2000+ stars but also doesn't seem that well maintained. anyway, solved my needs for now.
