Fixed issue #17 as well as syntax error in beds/schema.py. #23

Fixed issue #17 by copying the same code in the beds/schema.py that seems to satisfy the issue, but fixed the syntax issue in both locations.

Forgot to check for merge conflicts at time of creating pull request. Fixed merge conflicts in the beds/schema.py file.
