Same with Samsung Moment. When I attempt to use ADB to install ASE, I get the
following:
alex@john-galt:~/android-sdk-linux_x86-1.6_r1/tools$ ./adb install ase_r14.apk
717 KB/s (127785 bytes in 0.173s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/ase_r14.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK]
alex@john-galt:~/android-sdk-linux_x86-1.6_r1/tools$
So it looks like R14 may have been compiled for an API version newer than 3,
though
I'm not sure which.

Looks like this is intentional due to issues 115 and 118, and compiled with API
version 4.

Yes, this is intentional. ASE has a new minimum API level of 4 (Donut). It's a
bit of
an intractable problem for me to support all Android releases on all phones. In
this
case though, ASE changed for the better rather significantly and I should be
able to
roll back the TTS change to release with Cupcake support separately. I don't
plan on
maintaining a separate Cupcake branch though.

Yes, my verizon droid is running eclair and refuses to install. r13 would
install,
but would crash when installing interpreters.

I've just checked in support for Cupcake. The next release will work with older
phones
again.

@MeanEYE.rcf Absolutely. Let's move this conversation to the mailing list
though since
it doesn't belong on the bug. Just start a thread there and we can talk about
what you
want to work on.
