Thanks for updating the CHANGES log.

What do you think about also providing compatibility packages with the old names (just a META file with a requires line that “redirects” to the new name)? I think it would make the transition easier.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I am not too worried as beta4 is not source-level compatible with beta3 anyways, so users will have to modify code, but if you know a way to do so without introducing hacks, why not?

[Although it seems that we'd reintroduce a libname name just to deprecate it]

Don’t know of an easy way. And since it’s still a β version, that’s probably not a big deal.
