Recommendation of mosfets #3

Hello, i wanted to write DS2501's and build pcb a little bit smaller than currently.

can i use 2n7002 sot-23 instead of 2n7000 to-92? can i use AO3413L-SOT23-3 P channel mosfet instead of vp0106n3? other case is i wanted to use 0402 resistors

Properties of AO3413 P channel Mosfet VDS (V) = -20V ID = -3 A RDS(ON) < 97mΩ (VGS = -4.5V) RDS(ON) < 130mΩ (VGS = -2.5V) RDS(ON) < 190mΩ (VGS = -1.8V)

Properties of 2N7002 Mosfet 60V 3Ohms 240mA Rds(ON) 3 at VGS = 10 V Enhancement mode

can you please check? thank you very much for build such as project. thank you!

Hi --

the properties of the mosfets are not terribly critical – if you choose a FET of the same kind and with roughly the same characteristics it will work just fine. The fets in my example were chosen simply because I had them already.

I would stay away of the 402 size resistors and go for the 603 ones . I find working with the 402’s is quite difficult and not worth the trouble.

I have had no luck recently to buy the 1-Wire EPROM/OTP devices. I just ordered a couple of EE-PROMs to see if I can make them working with the laptops. Hopefully the laptops don’t interrogate the CHIP ID.

If you make a nice PCP and upload it to OSH–PCB as a public board with documentation I will ad a link to my github for it.

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary, Thank you very much for fast response. Actually i love 0402 cause they are small and easy to find on notebook motherboards. it will make our board very smaller. I only think about wattage of 0402's i will check and see of no problem with 0402 i will let you know.

i do not think about main system's checking for chip id... i think main system looking for data only but this is my think. I have bought already programmed DS2501 series from Chinese suppliers they work very fine.

I will upload my OSH–PCB files to this project if device works fine. Lets see our empty chips able to work or not.

Thank you, Have a nice day

I’m not familiar with DS2501. We have been using the DS2502+ in replacement of DS2502.
