Decide what happens when the mage is killed

Options:

• Re-spawn at starting location
• Sent to Astral plane (they need to cast spell to come back into game)

Re-spawning at the home location is not enough of a punishment when killed. Therefore sending to Astral plane works better.

There is always a basic spell to return home from the Astral plane, so player's never get stuck there.
