command area using non-monospaced font on some platforms #111

On my computer the command area uses a monospaced font. However, on some other peoples' systems there is a variable-spaced font used, which means any attempt to line data up in columns is mostly doomed to failure.

While the options box lets me choose a font size, it does not let me choose the font.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how I can fix this?
