It is buggy, and crashy, and has features that obscure REAL python.
I learned to use Visual Studio with MUCH more ease than this thing.
It was a nice thought, but the product sucks, and I DO NOT recommend it for learning on. it is a broken TOY.
Fix it and at least show how to implement your Jython-specific functions in real python, then it might have value in the REAL world.
I am NOT IMPRESSED that Massey would choose suck a buggy product as a teaching platform.
