Please confirm whether WordPress + Easy Digital Downloads is currently managing Sales?
If EDD is managing the sales we can go through EDD API http://docs.easydigitaldownloads.com/article/544-edd-api-reference and come up with better ways to integrate systems.
We will install WordPress+EDD on our end to test integration approaches and scenarios if it is being used.
