Redo does not redo undone actions except clearing of editor contents

What does "clearing of editor contents" mean? Is that the initial placement of text into the editor?

Pressing Ctrl-Z in a document will remove the text initially placed in the document when it is opened from file.

Ah, I thought so. That part can be fixed, although I'm less sure about approaching the "not redoing anything else" part
