Alex Proyas' Dark City from 1998 is one of those thrillers that you should know absolute nothing about, except for the fact that you should watch it. It has a nice 40ies/50ies, neo noir, atmosphere to it, some paranoia, old time horror, and tons of mystery that holds up even on a second watching.
For some reason this movie didn't make it quite to the masses like The Matrix did a year later, but it does deserve all the attention it can get. Go watch.

9/10; One of my all times favourites.
