HTTPS Google Maps links doesnt work

Please answer the questions about build version and network, will save
developers a lot of time !

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open https://maps.google.com/
2. Search any place
3. Send to phone with "Chrome to Phone" extension

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: "Maps" app open the link
Instead: "Browser" app open the link "as normal link", with Google maps webpage.

What version of the android, in Settings -> About phone -> Build number (
ex. FRFxx ) ?

2.29.405.5 (HTC Desire)

Was hard to find the cause of problem, because I had the "KB SSL Enforcer" 
Chrome extension[1]

I just installed chrome to phone and have the same issue. Means: 
Expected: "Maps" app open the link
Instead: Browser app open the link. There only was a choice between my 2 
browser-apps; no choice to open with maps-app.
My android is a samsung galaxy GT-S6802 with android version 2.3.6

The opera extension is working fine with this issue
