Is there a symbol selection support other then on hover? #26

Hello,

It seems that the only symbol selection mode currently available is on cursor 
hover. Is there a way to select a symbol for it to remain selected (i.e. to 
continuously display the selection symbol) once the cursor is no longer over it?
