context menu rename bug #79

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use the right-click context menu>StEx>Rename
2. Upon hitting "rename" the window becomes non-responsive and
must be ended via Windows Task Manager. Note that the command works fine
if you use the StEx dropdown menu from the toolbar.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.7.0.215
Windows XP SP3

I can't reproduce this, works fine for me here.
* what OS are you using?
* where do you right-click? (path, file or folder, ...)
* is the folder empty where you right click?
* did you open another StExBar dialog before?

Thanks for trying to address this.
Windows XP, SP3
I have a Windows Explorer window open, and I right-click anywhere (on File,
Folder,
or in the blank space beneath them) and select StEx>Rename. If I cancel out of
the
subsequent StEx Rename window everything is OK, but if I hit the Rename button
(regardless of what's in the Match and Replace fields, they can even be
empty)then a
Windows Explorer box appears with the message "Windows Explorer has encountered
a
problem and needs to close...." after I select "Don't Send" the window stays
frozen,
and I need to use Task Manager to end the task for that window.
I tried with and without an empty folder, same problem.
If I use the StEx>> button in the upper right corner of the window everything
works
fine -- both before and after I "crash" with the RMB method.
The other non-OS installed software that I have that gives me RMB choices
(different
depending upon what is selected) is:
VLC
Mediamonkey
Malwarebytes Anti-malware
7-zip

StExBar is a great product, thanks.
