I often try to pan the schematic view by dragging the mouse and that doesn't work. Not sure if that would be the best solution though, maybe we want to add box-select or some other dragging interaction in the future...
So the more general problem is that right now we're limited to the scroll bars, which can be far to reach...
An alternative would be to use Inkscape-like controls:

Mouse wheel scrolls up-down
Mouse wheel + Shift scrolls left-right
Mouse wheel + Ctrl zooms
