Color is not shown in gazebo from dae files #2028

The original report had attachments: onion_1.dae, onion_2.dae

I am using ubuntu 14.04 and Gazebo 5 or gazebo 7, together with ros jade. I am unable to display the colors of dae files when I load then into Gazebo via an sdf file. The dae files appear gray until I recolor them in the sdf. I can see the colors in the dae if I use a program like Meshlab. Edited issue description* changed title from "Color is not shown in from dae files" to "Color is not shown in gazebo from dae files"

The problem seems to be present in gazebo 2, 5 and 7.
