Just a few quick adjustments to the README, and I added a .editorconfig file:

Add checkboxes to Project Goals to improve readability
Reshuffle Project Goals to a more logical order of likely deliverability
Reformat Hardware Pin Configuration to Markdown table
Add configurable Cyclotron Direction to roadmap
Minor typo and styling improvements
Add .editorconfig for Arduino code

Open to discussion on any/all of these, happy to make changes before anything is merged.
