COST Action initiative, with the working title THERMAPEX: Enhancing conservation of marine apex predators (MAP) through synergy with man-made structures. (...) experience at GBIF is essential to our network
The Action is a network of marine apex predator researchers, conservationists, and policymakers, linking with coastal industry players (i.e., fish cages, energy stations, and other man-made structures [MMS]) that have observed ‘hotspot’ aggregations in their local area. Our challenge is to deeply connect with industry and create the first-ever protocols for effectively managing this marine resource – a true ‘win-win’ in human-wildlife conflict.
