OpenPSD high level follow up outreach

Following the GBIF CESP OpenPSD project, the GBIF Secretariat is planning a higher-level outreach to private companies to support and provide funding for increased biodiversity data mobilization. And have identified the following private companies as candidates to be contacted.

• DNB (Equator Principles Financial Institution)
• Export Credit Norway (EFPI)
• Equinor (IPIECA)
• Norwegian Oil & Gas Association (IPIECA)
• Norsk Hydro (Cross-Sector Biodiversity Initiative, International Council of Minerals and Mining)

Hydro (Biodiversity in the Amazonas, since 2012/2014)

Since 2014, the Natural History Museum (NHM) has carried out research on biodiversity, climate change, and reforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. The other participants in the cooperation are Norsk Hydro, The Federal University of Pará (UFPA), The Emilio Goeldi Museum of Pará (MPEG), and The Federal Rural University of the Amazon (UFRA). Together, we have established the Biodiversity Research Consortium Brazil-Norway (BRC).

Norwegian Oil & Gas Association

Norwegian Oil & Gas Association attended in person the OpenPSD seminar at NHMO Tøyen Oslo in February 2020, and have started publishing environmental monitoring data in GBIF through the Veracity data aggregator system maintained by DNV GL.
