Lumping of fossil lobopodians into Onychophora. There are many fossil organisms called ‘lobopodians’ that vaguely resemble Onychophora, but only a few have been formally recognised as true members of the phylum, namely: †Antennipatus, †Cretoperipatus, †Helenodora, †Succinipatopsis, and †Tertiapatus. The correct classification of the remainder is anyone’s guess, but GBIF puts them all under Onychophora, which could be misleading.
