In COL, the genus is included in Bibionidae: https://www.catalogueoflife.org/data/taxon/77F. The subfamily is unassigned, but I doubt this should lead to the genus not to be included in the recent backbone build.
The misspelling of Biblionidae relates to several old mispellings in Systema Dipterorum (related https://github.com/gbif/backbone-feedback/issues/290):
Duplicates remaining when all duplicates were removed: Drosophilidae Syrphidae Tachinidae
Misspellings or using wrong words: [Unplaced] --- Two nominal species proposed by Bigot. Should they rather be FDiptera? FCyclorrhpaha FDptera FNemotocera Agromyza Anthomyia Anthoymiidae Arxchisargidae ASCARIDiDAE --- note minuscule i Atlestidae Biblionidae Canthyloscelidae Ceratoipogonidae Ceratoopogonidae Ceratopogfonidae Certopogonidae Chieronomidae Chirobomidae Chironomiddae Chironomnidae Culcidae Dolichopoodidae Dolicvhopodidae Dreosophilidae Drosdophilidae Drosophila Greece Keroplatidaea Keropolatidae Limoniidaae Membrinellidae Muscidae --- Helina longivecta (http://diptera.org/Nomenclator/Details/206489) Muscidase Mycetophila Mycetophiloidae Nemestrionidae Nerridae Periscleididae Psychodiddae Scahophagidae Scstopsidae Simuiliidae Simulium Siumuliidae Stratioymidae Psychodiddae Scahophagidae Scstopsidae Simuiliidae Simulium Siumuliidae Stratioymidae Tephrtiidae Tewphritidae Thaumalaeidae Thaumeleidae Threvidae Vermileontidae
All those issues are fixed in Systema Dipterorum, and Biblionidae is not on COL anymore. Why it still remains in our backbone is a bit odd ~as some of the other issues are fixed~. Do you know why Biblionidae is still in there @thomasstjerne or @mdoering ? UPDATE: it seems we somehow still get the misspelling etc. from an old version of Systema Dipterorum (for example https://www.gbif.org/species/11147458) although when you search the checklist, the name is not there.
The Drosdophilidae come from COL Annual Checklist 2022 which we used at the time the backbone was build: https://www.checklistbank.org/dataset/9837/about
The version if Systema Dipterorum used in this COL release was 3.8 from 2022-05-22: https://www.checklistbank.org/dataset/9837/source/1101
It seems the SD fixes happened afterwards. The Bibio genus exists 3 times in 3 different families in the AC22 release: https://www.checklistbank.org/dataset/9837/names?q=Bibio&rank=genus
Thank you for investigating @mdoering - I guess SD did not fix all the issues in the April release as I thought. This should be fixed in the next backbone build then. Which is also the case for https://github.com/gbif/backbone-feedback/issues/290
I think this can be closed now @CecSve
// json for auto-checking { "name": "Bibio Geoffroy, 1762", "wrongGroup": "Biblionidae", "rightGroup": "Bibionidae" } why is this here?
Incorrect Bibio taxonomy
When searching for occurrences of Bibionidae the genus Bibio is not included (but should be). It looks like Bibio is under both Stratiomyidae and Biblionidae (note "l" typo)
