The example names in the list all do match at higher rank (i.e. missing from the backbone).

@mdoering
We should try to get the Australian Faunal Directory published so we can integrate those species into the backbone: https://bie.ala.org.au/species/https://biodiversity.org.au/afd/taxa/9fccdc7d-866c-4f7e-8c31-d1115cf9507f https://biodiversity.org.au/afd/taxa/Lepispilus_sulcicollis
There were plans to do so, but it might need a push from helpdesk, @ahahn-gbif ?
@djtfmartin, do you maybe already have AFD in dwc format?
We don't have the capacity for getting involved in recruitment and publishing of datasets, but helpdesk will be happy to help if guidance is needed.
GBIF missing species level names of some Australian natives
Some occurrence records of Australian natives do not appear in a general GBIF search (i.e. from the main page: https://www.gbif.org/) and only appear in an occurrence search (i.e. from the occurrence page: https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?occurrence_status=present&q=) because they are not recognized as species level taxa in the GBIF backbone. For example: Agrypnus pictipennis, Araecerus palmaris, Isturgia penthearia, Diemenoma tasmanica, Geloptera jugularis, Geloptera porosa, Hadrobregmus australiensis, Kapunda troughtoni, Lepispilus sulcicollis, Omyta centrolineata, Promethis nigra, Promethis quadricollis, Pseudapines geminata, and Xylion collaris. Occurrence records (including iNaturalist records) for these species do appear in the Atlas of Living Australia because they are using the Australian Faunal Directory taxonomy. Is it possible to include these native species in the GBIF taxonomy by coordinating with the Australian Faunal Directory? There could be similar issues for natives or particularly endemics in other world regions.
