Issues with genus Gasteria

This comes from an email originally sent to helpdesk. The information available for this genus is incorrect: some species are accepted when they shouldn't while others are duplicates and some are missing.

The names coming from the CoL are correct and I already reported the missing species to them: https://github.com/CatalogueOfLife/data/issues/328

Now we should probably contact the other checklists. The references that were sent to helpdesk are available in the CoL GH issue mentioned above.

There are three issues:

  1. Authorship spelling differences, for example we have both: Gasteria glomerata van Jaarsv. (https://www.gbif.org/species/2778566) and Gasteria glomerata VanJaarsv. (https://www.gbif.org/species/11223811)
  2. Some species are synonyms but they aren't shared as such
  3. The UI shows 60 species but only 41 are accepted names. But there should be only 25 + 3 species (see the CoL which follows the literature we were sent: https://www.catalogueoflife.org/data/taxon/62SSK)

Here is the detailed list of species that aren't coming from the CoL:

Hi, These data were not provided by Plazi. We do not have access to solve problems. Is there more information about this issue?

ManonGros commented 3 years ago

Hi @valdenar, the issue concerns many different publishers, the only part concerning PLAZI was reported in this comment: https://github.com/plazi/community/issues/93#issuecomment-947674993

I contacted the LCVP by email as well as Kew for both IPNI and the WCVP.

Hi @ManonGros, I will look at this. Thanks
