Include subfamily and tribe taxonomic levels

I work with broad-nosed weevils in the subfamily (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) Entiminae. It is a large group with over 12000 species described worldwide, in a family with over 65000 species. I have ocurrence data that I plan to submit to GBIF, from specimens at national collections in Colombia. Identifying these things is quite challenging, so that many specimens are identified only to tribe and some just to subfamily. All these narrowed down ID's will be lost and enter the long list of unidentified Curculionidae as GBIF currently does not recognize subfamily or tribe. These taxonomic levels make information more manageable.

Here is a paper with the (mostly) updated classification of beetles in support of this idea: Bouchard P, Bousquet Y, Davies A, Alonso-Zarazaga M, Lawrence J, Lyal C, Newton A, Reid C, Schmitt M, Slipinski A, Smith A (2011) Family-Group Names In Coleoptera (Insecta).
