@yroskov: any update about this issue?
No changes, as I can see, in the World Plants https://www.worldplants.de/world-plants-complete-list/complete-plant-list#1611064079 and in the Catalogue of Life https://preview.catalogueoflife.org/data/search?facet=rank&facet=issue&facet=status&facet=nomStatus&facet=nameType&facet=field&limit=50&offset=0&q=Oxalis%20stricta&sortBy=taxonomic
I don't think there is any chance of a change in the near future. World Plants is quite static and this error has already persisted for years. I'm not sure there is much point keeping this issue open, as there is not much that can be done from here.
Fact that World Plants is quite static means that the only way GBIF has to solve this problem is by a patch. As far as I know the backbone makes extensive use of manual patches. What does GBIF experts think about it? Thanks a lot.
World Plants is very much dynamic and vibrant project: https://www.worldplants.de/world-plants-complete-list/news
If you need to convince author to change taxonomic concepts, please, provide references to authoritative publication.
Ah, that's good news. Good idea. @qgroom: could you do it? I think you have the sufficient authority to make things change
One of these seems to have been deleted. https://www.gbif.org/species/2891666
World Plants correction will appear in CoL of November
The contact information was much improved this year, maybe earlier and I submitted corrections to various Oxalis taxa several months ago. I think O. stricta is ok in World Plants now, but it does take a while to propagate.
Based on GBIF Backbone, this taxon is a proparte synonym. There are two taxa linked to Oxalis stricta L.:
However, as reported by Oxalis expert @qgroom, this seems a mistake. See https://github.com/inbo/ibge-bim-species/issues/42#issuecomment-498315849 for more details.
