Catageus rimosus in both backbone and as synonym

For Animalia: Amblypgyi

The system includes this species under genus Catageus, seemingly as 'accepted' in backbone, i.e. valid

Catageus rimosus Simon, 1901 https://www.gbif.org/species/8890150 SPECIES ACCEPTED

But, it seems misduplicated, it's also under later revised combination Sarax rimosus (Simon, 1901) https://www.gbif.org/species/2181415

That directing to it's protonym/Basionym as: Catagaeus rimosus Simon, 1901, with a different entry to those above https://www.gbif.org/species/6895099

Link to authoritative catalog - with valid later combination Sarax rimosus (Simon, 1901) https://wac.nmbe.ch/order/amblypygi/speciesdata/1008

It looks like the reason it was duplicated is because the name here https://www.gbif.org/species/8890150 is Catageus rimosus Simon, 1901 while the name here https://www.gbif.org/species/6895099 is Catagaeus rimosus Simon, 1901

I assume that the difference in spelling is the reason why they weren't matched in the GBIF Backbone taxonomy. Catageus rimosus Simon, 1901 comes from ZooBank: https://zoobank.org/NomenclaturalActs/8e86c0da-e849-4154-b86e-aae88de1ecbb I checked the original publication and it looks like the correct spelling is Catagaeus rimosus Simon, 1901. @deepreef would it be possible to update the name in ZooBank?

deepreef commented 3 weeks ago

Thanks for this! I’ve made the correction in ZooBank. Note that we try to represent the characters as they actually appear on the page (except to convert all-caps and small-caps to standard case); so I updated it to “Catagæus” (instead of “Catagaeus”). Note also this applies only to this publication’s spelling of the genus. The original spelling for this genus is “Catageus” (https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/35996200#page/534/mode/1up)
