Anopheles gambiae is not mentioned in the first edition, but in the appendix on page 511–512 of the second edition there is a description of «20a. ANOPHELES GAMBIAE MS. name.» and on page 509 there is an illustration of the female wing of «An. Gambiae MS. name».
