Updated the name, added a description, added contacts, update mail address and coordinates
Code of the Institution is now BGR001 according to WIEWS instcode of FAO.
Added 4 collections:
No ROR code
I am almost certain that the following 254 occurences from the dataset "EURISCO, The European Genetic Resources Search Catalogue" should be linked to Institute for Plant Genetic Resources:
https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?dataset_key=865df020-f762-11e1-a439-00145eb45e9a&institution_code=bgr001&gadm_gid=BGR
(NOTE: Since I already added "BGR001" as an Alternative collection code for the National collection of cultivated species and also for the institute. Do you think that the API will connect now the occurence? @ManonGros
However, if we exclude the geographic criteria the number of records associated with BGR001 increases to 51,229: https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?dataset_key=865df020-f762-11e1-a439-00145eb45e9a&institution_code=bgr001 It is possible as they have more than 60000 entries, and claim to have accession from around the world, not only Bulgaria.
Hi @spalp, all the "BGR001" will be linked to the institution (see the result from our lookup: https://api.gbif.org/v1/grscicoll/lookup?institutionCode=BGR001&collectionCode=BGR). We don't really have a way to restrict the records based on the geographical area. At that point, we would have to contact the publisher and check their collections and institution codes. I am not sure that we want to do that (yet).
Update (08.11.2023): Removed the BGR005 and BGR029 as alternative institution codes. Since they are separate institutional codes cf. FAO WIEWS INSTCODE (see comments below), I created the corresponding institutions in GRSciColl.
Contacted D.E. and R.S.J from GBIF Norway to ask whether the EURISCO, The European Genetic Resources Search Catalogue published by Bioversity International could be readopted and updated to correct the Institution and Collection codes (see previous comments)? And eventually, hosted by GBIF Norway?
Update (16.11.2023): D.E. replied: "Did discuss with the EURISCO curator, ..., at a meeting in Rome in March. S.W. is positive about updating the EURISCO dataset. Not sure if Bioversity International still would be the accurate "publisher"? Maybe the IPK Gatersleben will be. Maybe a new "publisher" at the ECPGR would."
