Linking occurrences to the Institution

Code = NHMBEO (main Institution code) and BEO (alternative code for the Herbarium)

Step 1: Check - are there any datasets in GBIF using this institution code? If yes, do all of them contain occurrences from this institution?

https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?basis_of_record=MATERIAL_CITATION&basis_of_record=MATERIAL_SAMPLE&basis_of_record=PRESERVED_SPECIMEN&basis_of_record=FOSSIL_SPECIMEN&institution_code=BEO&institution_code=NHMBEO

Result: 03.01.2024: 0 occurrences

Step 2: Are occurrences using this codes going to be automatically mapped to the institution? If, yes, is the institution matched the correct one?

https://api.gbif.org/v1/grscicoll/lookup?institutionCode=NHMBEO Yet, the institution code match --> No manual mapping is needed!

https://api.gbif.org/v1/grscicoll/lookup?institutionCode=BEO Yet, the institution code match --> No manual mapping is needed!

Linking occurrences to the Herbarium
