Why is this important: Brown Marmorated Stink Bug is an invasive species in the conterminous 48 U.S., widespread across both the east and west coasts. There's a 'March Madness' citizen science effort to record the bug. GBIF.org currently has 403 occurrences globally. During peak season, I could have surveyed my block in Charlottesville and recorded that many individuals. This might be a valuable dataset to pursue also to test the recommendations of the A&IS task group. This map shows that one new county has already been added through this project.
