- WMTS, see example: https://labs.gbif.org/~mblissett/2022/06/wmts/ but it would benefit from multidimensional filters: https://docs.ogc.org/per/16-042r1.html#_multidimensional_wmts_domain_discovery
- OGC vector tiles, but this is in draft: https://ogcapi.ogc.org/tiles/ / https://openlayers.org/en/latest/examples/ogc-vector-tiles.html
Either way, a lot less Javascript is needed to use OpenLayers, and it's also easier in QGIS.
People embed GBIF maps in their own sites.
Can we make it easy for them to do this, by providing a Javascript library which automatically does what's needed with OpenLayers or Leaflet?
