Occurrence: missing filters

The occurrence search should support all filters on gbif.org. We currently do not have

• tertiary filters like repatriation
• location filters (e.g. drawing a polygon)
• has_geospatial_issue=false #189

Hosted portals seem to have many filters that gbif.org does not. Is there a full list of filter fields that are viable? We seek support for fields we index in VertNet's advanced search (http://portal.vertnet.org/search). These include:

fieldNumber preparations sex county (we realize GADM supports this, but not well, at this administrative level there are so many matches for some names that you can't find the one you're looking for in the pop-up menu, which is a general serious issue not just for county) startDayOfYear endDayOfYear

All available filters are exposed as a default (so the ones you mention isn't possible). It sounds like this issue is closely related to https://github.com/gbif/pipelines/issues/272 where the discussion about extending the index with new fields take place?

• fieldNumber - not indexed - I suggest a feature request on https://github.com/gbif/pipelines/issues/new
• preparations - indexed as keyword. I could add it as a filter, but I'm not sure how to do it best as it isn't a controlled vocabulary and i have no suggest for it - so users would be shooting blindly trying to hit an existing string. Again it seems to be part of the discussion you are involved in with https://github.com/gbif/pipelines/issues/272
• sex - same story as preparations

For the record: this issue is about feature parity with gbif.org - not about adding filters that do not exist on gbif.org. Requests for new filters are of course welcome, but is better captured in a new issue.

Some of the filters in the DWCA extensions of the GBIF search, such as presence/absence of amplification, images or multimedia would be useful for us.
