gallery: image categories

As gallery is one of the popular features, it may benefit from separating images of the species taken in nature, separately from the preserved specimens, separately from the label images

This is something that requires us to store (or at minimum download every time we need it) every image. It's possible, and something we've investigated.

Or a change in the extension / standard? Three fields instead of one, still calling images form outside?

Appropriate terms already exist in Audubon Core (almost no-one is using them, but we're not doing anything with them either).

We could automatically complete them with machine learning, or leave the original values if they're present.
