Unique GBIF identifier

Is there a unique GBIF identifier for each occurrence record? I thought fields GBIFID or IDENTIFIER would act as such, but I can't search/filter occurrences online using these details.

The UI do not allow for this. And I do not believe there is a way to search by the GBIF occurrenceKey in the API.

But perhaps it makes sense to have this. If I want to cite a specific occurrence isn't the proper approach to download it and have an archive to reference?

Btw: there is no record with key: 1784127
