I'm not sure I understand. I see charts. You do not see anything? Below is a screenshot of what I see. screen shot 2018-09-18 at 09 04 17

Also the page https://www.gbif.org/country is redirected to the GBIF network page and doesn't give numbers total numbers of occurrence records by country.

I'm not sure where you got the url https://www.gbif.org/country from. I don't believe we actively link to it? Either way it is redirected to the network page because that is the page where country participation is described.

If you are interested in comparing occurrence counts from countries then you can use the occurrence charts. e.g. comparing Fungi occurrences from 1961-91 in Argentina and Norway or if you are just interested in country counts for fungi

Thanks Morten for your reply. I found out it is an issue in Chrome v.69 as you can see in this screenshot: capture Firefox is fine, the charts are here normally visible.

Somewhere I found this chart (but I am not able to find it back on the website of GBIF): capturetotal occurrences. That was why I started looking for the link to https://www.gbif.org/country (actually http://...) I was wondering where I could find this kind of information, or where I could find anuual reports of GBIF where this kind of information is visible.

I'm not sure where above image is from, but it looks like a power point. Probably an old presentation. I couldn't find it either. The link gbif.org/country indeed used to exist. It simply listed all countries and took you to the corresponding country pages.

Thank you for reporting the bug with chrome v.69. I'll try to recreate the issue, so I can fix it.

MortenHofft commented 6 years ago

I cannot reproduce it easily. If you know how to look in the Chrome developer console, I'd appreciate any information you can get. Thanks

timhirsch commented 6 years ago

The chart reproduced in the earlier comment can be found in the slideset available at https://www.gbif.org/document/81771/gbif-overview-powerpoint-slides , part of a general information presentation we produce normally every other month but we are a bit late with the latest update!

@jeroencreuwels I see you reported it from a win7 machine running chrome v.29. I've tried to reproduce this on

And haven't been able to reproduce it it any environment. If you still see the issue could you please confirm it. If it is still an issue, then ideally supplement it with a look (or screenshot) in the developer tools (can be opened from the menu). Might be that it has something useful to say.

Else I assume that it was a server outage or a bad cache causing it.

Thanks for reporting it.
