grscicoll - Should we add institutionID to the EML or onto the record level? #531

Should we add the institutionID and collectionID to the record level, or to collection identifier in the IPT EML?

Hi @rukayaj institutionID and collectionID should be added at the occurrence level.

Note that we were considering using the collection identifier in the IPT EML for the cases where dataset metadata are used as main source for a GRSciColl collection entries. However, it looks like the information provided there is very heterogenous and we decided not to use it (https://github.com/gbif/registry/issues/319#issuecomment-905177385). In any case, it wouldn't be used for linking occurrences to GRSciColl entries.

I am glad you enjoy the new UI! I will close the issue, let me know if it should be reopened.
