I've personally had better luck tracking helicopters using flightradar24. I find that often they won't even show up on flightaware.

Here's who I've been able to find on FlightRadar24 so far:

[x] Skybear
[x] Medstar
[ ] MPD - I believe they don't display
[x] US Park Police
[ ] Coast Guard - I believe they don't display
[ ] US Army - I believe they don't display
[x] CBP
[ ] US Air Force - I believe they don't display
[ ] HMX-1 - I believe they don't display

One that looks like MPD isn't on flight radar

I've gone through this with all of the current main helicopters and am going to close this issue while still keeping an eye out for any others.

For this I almost exclusively use https://adsbexchange.com/ in the Los Angeles area. I haven't checked its coverage over D.C.
