Offer: Sponsoring the 1.19.4 Update #18

@gbl I'd like to sponsor the 1.19.4 update of EasierChests if you're okay with it. The QoL features it offers has no paragon in any other mod, so, if you're open to talks, it would be my pleasure to sponsor the next update, if you place a donations link on your Github.

Best regards, keijo

The dev has said that they don't have really any time or interest in updating it and it wouldn't be easy because 1.19.4 made some major changes.

But, hrm, maybe if we tossed some money their way maybe? that would be nice... I got SO used to this mod that I now really don't like playing without it.

Sorry, but it's not a question about money; I'm a software developer in my professional live, so I write software for money all the time anyway. But accepting money would put me into a position where I'd have to hold some professional standards of promptly responding, providing bug fixes, and updating the software, and I'm not willing to do this for the mods right now.

"If you don't do it for the mods, do it for the kids" (very old ESPN awareness spot) I totally understand your position, as a 48 yr-old Minecraft player who onboarded his kids on it, running an in-house Purpur server just to have our own Earth-Towny world, I have sponsored some developers to adjust things to my world. With your permission, I'll ask one of my sponsored devs to fork your code and adapt it. Can I?

gbl commented 1 year ago

Sure, all my mods are under the MIT license, which basically means do whatever you want except claim you've written it yourself.

Keijlodputt,

Could you please keep us updated on the update? And relasese it to the public somehow? :-)

Idk, like fork it or whatever on Github and make sure it's well linked back to Gbl as the original author etc?

I just released a 1.20/1.20.1 version. Took the config gui out which is hard to update, but the rest should work.
