Justification: ISO/TC 211 N4295: The scope of the revision of ISO 19111:2007 should be broadened to include an extension of the data model for grid referencing systems derived from CRSs.
Proposal: The project team decided against broadening the scope. Alternatives are development of a part 3 (ISO 19111-3) which extends ISO 19111 for grid referencing. Another alternative would be a separate standard (ISO 191XX) for spatial referencing by grid references.
