RESTful API #19

This would help with the creation of a RESTful API. I think this feature
should be lower on the priority list, if not treated as a nice to have
(which I believe Milan mentioned).

This might be something someone from the team tackles on a Saturday for fun :)

We're also dicussing about JSON API a well for media ... not sure how that fits 
in.
