MLT does not currently support multiple monitors for output. I think there is
some work done on this feature and if the functionality becomes available we'll
revisit the isuue.
However, I think it would be very difficult to do this, so whether we try to do
this or not is difficult to say right now.
I agree that option to have separate monitors ala Avid might be useful.

In kdenlive i have seen how timeline viewer and clip viewer are seperate. Can
you please look into that software? As it is also based on MLT, maybe something
you are missing? Ignore me if i am completely wrong, as i have no clue in
programming.

You are correct, KDEnlive seems to be able to do it. There seems to some sort
of performance penalty thought, clip monitor was very sluggish. Responsiveness
is a corner stone goal of the project, and I won't make significant sacrifices
in that area.
HAlso, aving thought about it, my internal code structure does not support this
at all, so attempting it would be a major investment. I'm not saying never, but
this won't be happening in the near future.
