the escape key does not work if MLB is enabled (problems with the address bar)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a new tab (blank tab). Assume that you've typed (you can type anything 
in the address bar) the wrong address and you press the escape key. It does not 
respond:(
2. I disabled the addon and the escape key works normally

What is the expected output?

What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows XP SP3, Firefox 8.0.1 (latest stable)
