I'm still uncertain about the readiness of the mod -- the categorization is pretty rough, and you can't combine them for some reason -- but it could still conceivably be constructive, particularly in lieu of needing to run an external media app to get away from the sixty thousand hours of vanilla minecraft we've both endured.
That said, is there any value in attempting to create a unified soundscape? We have very different preferences when it comes to textures, so it probably wouldn't be surprising if we have some differences when it comes to possible music options...
But there's the issue that the mod is worthless if you don't either put a full set of tracks together yourself or use a pre-extant pack, and the curation effort there isn't trivial. If we're both having to do it separately, that's a noteworthy duplication of effort that hasn't gone into other tasks, such as playing the game.
There's also the copyright issue to consider as well, if we're curating and storing files on a public repo.
