Morfette compilation crashes on snow leopard (intel) (actually maxent crashes) #1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  check out the source (with maxent included)
2.  try to recompile, maxent cannot compile on snow leopard (a lot of errors, 
related to c++ idioms)
