Backend enhancements and documentation

Description

This PR brings feature improvements and updated documentation:

• Use UUID and Serial Number in sensor & sensortype #590
• Add setup instructions (initial revision) #660
• Add Setup instructions for windows #664
• Add Setup instructions for RPM Linux #672
• Add Heroku setup and deployment instructions #671
• Add support for macOS (osx) in Travis CI #645

Travis takes a few minutes longer to boot the macOS testing environment, comparing to the existing testing environment (Linux).
