cddb return code 500 #361

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. insert a CD
2. run rubyripper
3. scan CD

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the track names listed. Instead I see Unknown disc
information and Track 01 Track 02 etc.

1) What version of rubyripper are you using? On what operating system?
-> 0.5.7 on Linux 2.6.29-gentoo-r5 #12 SMP PREEMPT Sun Sep 13 15:26:53 CDT
2009 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7600 @ 2.33GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

2) Are you using the gtk2 or the commandline interface?
-> either

3) Is the problem gone with the default settings? If so, please attach your
settings file ($HOME/.rubyripper/settings).
-> I've tried several server settings for the freedb server (including the
one that works in grip).

Here's my current settings:
req_matches_all=2
naming_various=%f/%a (%y) %b/%n - %va - %t
vorbissettings=-q 4
flacsettings=--best -V
cd=#<Disc:0x7ff091bad680>

naming_normal=%f/%a (%y) %b/%n %a - %t
max_tries=15
wav=false
gain=album
req_matches_errors=5
noCapitals=false
editor=/usr/bin/emacsclient -c
username=anonymous
verbose=false
noSpaces=false
maxThreads=0
mp3=false
normalize=false
first_hit=true
cdrom=/dev/cdrom
create_cue=true
site=http://freedb2.org:80/~cddb/cddb.cgi
playlist=true
other=false
no_log=false
filemanager=nautilus --no-desktop
hostname=my_secret.com
eject=true
instance=main
debug=true
naming_image=%f/%a (%y) %b/%a - %b (%y)
basedir=/home/public/mp3
othersettings=
mp3settings=-V 3
image=true
rippersettings=
offset=667
vorbis=false
flac=true

4) Does the problem only happen on a specific disc? If so, please attach
the output of cdparanoia -Q. Also the freedb output would be nice if it may
be related to it.
-> nope, any disc (or at least all three I tried)

Please provide any additional information below.

and I forgot to mention: it worked the first time I used the program with the
default settings.  Then it stopped.

Return code 500 indicates that the request is invalid for cddb. Could you
please try
with latest git (see the wiki page).

Since I can not reproduce this, I have gotten no feedback and only you reported
the
problem, I can only assume the error is fixed meanwhile.

I also get this issue for the last week or two - not specific to individual
disks. Highly intermittent.

I also just got this issue, but got rid of it by uninstalling flactag package.
I'm running rubyripper 0.6.2-1~getdeb3~trusty on Ubuntu 14.04.
