Unarchiving compressed file launches preferences does not uncompress #728

I've tried to uncompress several tar.gz and zip files however The Unarchiver 
opens asking me where I would like extracted files to be placed and then the 
preferences window.  No files are ever extracted.

The Unarchiver Version 3.9.1 (3.9.1)
OS X Version 10.9.1
2.2 GHZ Intel Core i7
16GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Let me know what else I can provide to be of assistance!

Probably issue 583. Some other program is messing things up and breaking The 
Unarchiver. See that issue for hints what it might be.
