Xee is attempting to display hidden files (._ files) when browsing a folder randomly

First of all, if you have any Haxies, InputManagers, SIMBL plugins or
similar operating system hacks installed, please remove them first, restart
the program, and make sure the bug is reproducible without them.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open the folder (it's full of animated gifs)
2. press R to jump around randomly
3. xee tries and fails to display a hidden ._ image

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expect an image, get a black output and a red ! error indicator

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.1.1 MacOSX
