save image as.. won't automatically add selected extension #320

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. paste an image from clipboard into Xee
2. menu -> save as...
3. enter filename without extension (note that default extension is selected in 
dropdown)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: image to save as 'filename'.'default/selected ext'

Seen: image is saved as 'filename' without any extension.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mac OS - latest version

This code is entirely different in 3.0, and seems to work, so this shouldn't be 
an issue in that version.
