Loading animation #343

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open image
2. Observe rolling static for ~6 seconds

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A more elegant way of showing image loading is expected. Generally, static is
associated with something going wrong and it feels very annoying to have to see
this animation while an image is loading.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
Using Xee v3.0.1

There might be some other option for it later, but really, this does not seem
like a real issue.

I think from a user experience point of view, it doesn't feel right to have
static there when loading the next image. It's confusing and aesthetically not
very pleasing. Would you consider making it optional? Personally, I'd rather
see nothing (or just the spinning wheel animation).

I do like the app btw, just bought a license..

Maybe as a hidden preference option for example.

I don't think the animation is your problem, really, just that it is shown for
way too long. This is because of the other bug.

Actually, it also annoys me in v3.0, which is loading quite fast. It really
does bother me (and apparently I'm not the only one) and I think I explained
quite thoroughly in my post above why it does. It just makes no sense UI-wise..

I see you also 'invalidated' the post of another person who didn't like the
loading animation, even though it contained some other points he made which
were quite valid, in my opinion.

Look. I know you don't like it, but at this point, I am very busy with other
things. I really don't have time for this, and if you keep pushing it, you will
just make me less interested in doing anything about it.

Your opinion has been received. But this is a cosmetic detail. It will have to
wait.
